Come see for yourself. This gourmet steakhouse surpasses the realm of the typical gourmet steak restaurant and triumphs as a paradise for steak aficionados and seafood lovers. Our meat and ingredients are fresh enough to earn the title of steak specialist – and St. Louis’ home of fine steak.
We have served our signature dishes, such as our famous Pepperloin a la Tenderloin and classic salads to thousands and thousands of people since the early 1960s when Harold Koplar first opened the doors with Hack Ulrich managing operations. Sadly, The Tenderloin Room was devastatingly destroyed by fire on Christmas Eve 1968. However, in 1970 The Tenderloin was re-opened and brought back to life. And even after two more times of closing and re-opening for major and minor renovations, those that have visited then and now will agree it has managed to retain its original elegance and ambiance.
Ulrich had an eye for talent and hired Tom Karagiannis who would eventually take
over as owner in 1992. Now a new generation of the Karagiannis family, Tom’s
son Dino is at the helm. The Karagiannis’ passion for upholding The Tenderloin
Room tradition while preparing mouthwatering dishes - as well as their love for
this extravagant gourmet steak restaurant can be seen in the extraordinary maintenance
and upkeep of the timeless room.
